Back Frm Mighty Jungle
After going thru 1 week of field camp in the vegetation of plantations, tall grass, trees, I came back with much knowledge. Knowing the importance of building a good tent with excellent drainage system ard it or else, the two guys will have to sleep on the groundsheet soaked with muddy water and rain water seeping into the tent. The weather hasn't been kind to us.It rained almost everyday.Though it's cooling, but somehow it doesn't lift up our spirits.Imagine walking ard, sleeping in the tent with ur mud-caked boots.Everywhere is so wet, muddy, mushy and sticky.Having meals with our green vaccum-packed combat rations almost everyday is great toture. The day when we were given fresh rations to consume..the feeling of gobbling those food down to our stomach nvr feel so good before.
MOst interesting part of camp is where we learn how to react upon enemy fire, moving in a file formation with a grp of us, communicating using hand signals.Thunderflash, blanks were used to make the situations even more realistic. After these 7 days, i finally realised the real importance of teamwork. That's where my platoon mates and my buddy comes in. Without them, i can't think of situation where i will be in.Things like given a certain time to build a tent, digging a proper drainage system, looking out for each other, etc and esp. digging of the shell-scrape.Without help frm my good buddies, Jun Quan and Nixon, i think i jus die in my half-digged "grave". You can call me unlucky..I was given a spot to dig my shell-scrape where two trees are so nearby where i was pratically chopping thick tree roots instead of digging soil out.Suay man!!!I almost died there if not for my buddies. Thanks pple.
Well..a good experience i will say.Field camp down now left SIT-Test to go.Another 3 days field camp in 2 weeks time.Sian lar..haha...
